Even after the Healing… Imposter Syndrome can still show up

And here’s how I keep it from running the show.
Just before my wedding — a day full of love, joy, and jumping into the sea with friends — I found myself spiralling.
I’ve spent years doing the inner work. I’m trained in EFT, Havening, NLP, and holistic coaching. I support women in HR and leadership to manage their stress and rewire old patterns.
And yet, there I was… in full-blown self-doubt mode:
💭 What if it’s not enough?
💭 What will people think?
💭 Shouldn’t I be calmer by now?
That’s the thing about Imposter Syndrome — it doesn’t care how qualified you are, how “ready” you seem, or how much healing you’ve done. It shows up quietly, like a whisper that says,
“You’re not enough. They’re going to notice.”
But here’s the truth:
Healing doesn’t erase the voices. It gives you the tools to respond to them.
🤯 So, what is Imposter Syndrome — really?
It’s that persistent inner belief that you’re not as competent or capable as others think you are — and that eventually, someone will find you out.
Even (especially!) high-achieving women struggle with this. And it doesn’t mean you’re broken — it means you’ve got a working brain and a very old inner critic.
There are 5 main types of Imposter Syndrome, and during that trip — yep, they all made guest appearances. Here’s how they show up, and how I coach through them.
1. The Perfectionist
🔁 “If it’s not flawless, I’ve failed.”
I caught myself fixating on the boat, the decorations, the simplicity of the day — worrying it wasn’t “good enough.”
But good enough for who?
✅ Coaching Tip:
Set a 70% rule. If it feels 70% aligned, go for it. Perfection isn’t the goal — progress and presence are.
2. The Superwoman
🔁 “I need to do it all. Be it all.”
Before the trip, I juggled work, planning, emotions, family — and pretended I was fine. Until my body gave in and got sick.
Sound familiar?
✅ Coaching Tip:
Ask: “What can I delegate or delay?” Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. Let your nervous system catch up.
3. The Natural Genius
🔁 “If it doesn’t come easily, I’m not cut out for it.”
I struggled emotionally in the lead-up, and caught myself thinking,
“Why is this still hard for me? Shouldn’t I be past this?”
✅ Coaching Tip:
Track growth, not ease. Write down moments of resilience, not perfection. Mastery takes repetition.
4. The Soloist
🔁 “If I need help, I’ve failed.”
This one is sneaky. I almost didn’t share how overwhelmed I felt. But when I did? I felt lighter. Seen. Supported.
✅ Coaching Tip:
Practice saying: “Can I talk this out with you?” You don’t have to carry it alone. Connection is strength.
5. The Expert
🔁 “I need one more qualification to be credible.”
Despite all my training, I still questioned if I was “qualified enough” as still got overwhelmed.
(It sounds silly when you say it out loud… but it felt real.)
✅ Coaching Tip:
Flip the script: “What do I already know that’s helped someone?”
Credibility isn’t in certificates — it’s in impact.
👑 The Bigger Truth
Imposter Syndrome doesn’t go away with another certification, another retreat, or another milestone.
But it does get quieter when you build a toolkit to manage it.
When you give yourself permission to be human.
And when you remember that being in the work… is the work.
✨ Imposter syndrome isn’t a sign you’re broken — it’s a sign you’re growing.
Every time you stretch, evolve, or step into a new version of yourself, those old whispers of doubt might try to creep back in. But they don’t have to run the show anymore.
This is where I come in.
Through mindset coaching and techniques like EFT (tapping), I help ambitious women — especially those in HR — quiet the inner critic, regulate their nervous systems, and reconnect with their inner confidence.
Because you don’t need to be more — you just need to feel safe being who you already are.
